Lifelong partners - Trees of Heaven

The other day while walking around Dundas, Ontario I came across this pair of Tree of Heaven which are clearly about the same age. Very typical to see this tree growing southern Ontario (it is considered an invasive specimen here). When I was first learning how to identify trees in Ontario I thought that this must be related to sumach. Interestingly it is the titular tree in the well known novel, "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn".
